The Best Essential Oils For Hair Growth

by Good Health Talks October 31, 2022
written by Good Health Talks

These are my recommendations for the best essential oils for hair growth. They are a great hair growth booster and at the same time, they improve the condition of our scalp by unclogging hair follicles. Essential oils can prevent dandruff, breakage, dryness, and thinning hair.

Essential Oils for Hair Growth: Tea Tree oil

Tea tree is known for many skin and hair benefits. Due to its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and cleansing properties, it improves hair growth by unclogging hair follicles.

In a 2013 study, a comparison was made between tea tree oil and a hair growth ingredient known as minoxidil. The solution of tea tree oil and minoxidil turned out to be more powerful than minoxidil alone. Furthermore, according to 2015 research, tea tree oil was reported to be a popular anti-dandruff remedy.

Tea tree oil can be found in different concentrations, so follow the label on the bottle.

I personally have used this oil for acne on my skin. However, when I found out about a few natural ingredients in shampoos, whose main ingredient was tea tree oil I decided to try them out. You may not be used to the fact that some of these natural ingredients shampoos don’t soap enough. Your hair might feel a little bit greasy in the beginning. But once you get used to it, it will get better. The tea tree oil ingredient leaves a fresh feeling on your scalp. I am sure that by just using the essential oil this feeling is better!

Essential Oils for Hair Growth: Rosemary oil

If you want thicker hair and hair that grows faster, rosemary oil is the right choice for you. It is a very popular ingredient for hair growth since it is able to refine cellular generation. Rosemary essential oil has almost the same performance as minoxidil but the scalp gets less irritated.

Rosemary oil has a very specific, strong smell, so some of you may hesitate to even try it out (just like me) However, it really leaves your scalp feeling clean while your hair seems stronger every time you use it.

Essential Oils for Hair Growth: Lavender oil

Just the smell will convince you to use this wonderful essential oil. Not just the smell, but its properties should be a reason for you to try it out. Lavender essential oil really promotes the health of our scalp. It also speeds up hair growth by generating cell growth and reducing stress.

The first time I used lavender was as a face mask. I cannot emphasize enough its relaxing effect on my mind and my overall mood. So imagine, whenever you will be using it like a hair mask, it will be like having a spa treatment.

How to Use Essential Oils for Hair Growth

Overall, it is a great idea to use essential oils for hair growth. We now must emphasize that you should know how to properly do this.

It is not recommended to use essential oils directly on your skin, since they are highly concentrated. So what can you so?

Add to a carrier oil

You can use argan oil, coconut oil, and almond oil. For hair growth, we recommend using argan oil. you can use the carrier oil-essential oil combination as a leave-in conditioner after shampooing or as a hair mask

Add a Few Drops to Your Shampoo

Just add 7-10 drops to your shampoo. If your shampoo has been formulated with some natural ingredients or even rosemary, geranium, or any other essential oil, it’s even better for your hair.

Add to a Hair Rinse

Take a spray bottle of water and add 10-15 drops of any essential oil of your choice. Spray in your hair after showering just like you would use a conditioner.

The Sage And Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse That Darkens Gray Hairs In No Time

by Good Health Talks September 4, 2022
written by Good Health Talks

Gray is considered to be one of the first signs of aging. I have noticed my first gray hair several months ago and I started panicking!

However, these days, as a result of the stressful lives we are living it is normal for younger individuals to face this problem. I have many girlfriends under 30 who have noticed their first gray hairs even in their 20s. This presents a real problem especially for those who have darker hairs, as the gray strands are more noticeable. One of the options is to start dying your hair, but this means that you’ll start applying all the harsh chemicals to your head.

If you want a healthier option, read on.

Gray hair

Sage is popular for its various health benefits such as strengthening the teeth and gums, soothing a sore throat, preventing inflammation, and treating depression.

It is also beneficial for the hair and skin as well. Since a long time ago, sage has been used for treating hair problems like baldness. It stimulates hair growth and darkens gray strands. Although not completely, it blends the gray strands with the natural color.

Sage & Apple Cider Vinegar Natural Gray Hair Dye

For optimal results, enrich your sage hair rinse with apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has the ability to remove any residue build-up in the hair, restore the natural pH balance, and it also detangles hair and works as an amazing conditioner. You can find several types of sage, but garden sage works best for this purpose.

You will need:

  • Tea kettle
  • Cruet bottle
  • Funnel
  • Bowl
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 handful of fresh sage leaves or 2 tbsp of dried sage
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

Add Sage

If you use fresh sage, remove the stems and pull them to pieces in order to release their natural oils. Then, simply put them in a bowl.

Make the sage tea

Bring two cups of water to the boil then pour the boiling water over the herbs.

Steep

Steep for about 15-20 minutes and then let it cool.

Tip: If you want to soothe your sore throat, save some of the tea and add a little bit of honey.

Add vinegar

Strain the tea and add it to the vinegar. It is recommended to use a cruet bottle as it allows the easier application.

How to use the Natural Gray Hair Dye:

Use the natural gray hair dye after shampooing. You will notice that the vinegar has a strong smell, but it is a better option than the chemical dyes.

Repeat this procedure a few times weekly. In addition to darkening your hair, the sage rinse will also add shine to it!
